How do I change courses?

First discuss with your present department why you want to change; they will need to know as they will have to release you from a course. If the course change is within your own department they may make the change for you. If it is a change to another department then you will also have to speak to the admissions tutor for the course you want to move to. If you are accepted on the new course your old department will have to release you and you will have to inform the Student Loan Company (if in receipt of a tuition fee loan) or your sponsor (if some one else pays your fees for you).

Once your course transfer is agreed, if required, we will also write to your funding body finalising your transfer.

As a University staff member wishing to study part-time for an MPhil/PhD, how do I get started and what do I need to do?

You will need to submit an application and enrol in the same way as all the other students, completing a University enrolment form at the Hub.  When you enrol you will also need to bring in your employment contract so that we can check if you are eligible for a fee waiver.  After enrolment you will need to self-register for access to IT services so that you have a student e-mail address - two email addresses may seem inconvenient but it is important to check both so that you can be informed about matters relating to your studies and so that you have student access to e:vision to re-enrol each year to keep your registration active and to keep your personal details up-to-date.
