Induction programmes
University-wide Induction Programme
The University Induction Programme is currently delivered twice per academic year for Year 1 Postgraduate Research (PGR) students. For academic year 2011-12: dates and venue TBC but likely to be 9th November and 1st February (am only). The sessions are revelant to all new PGR students across the University, whether part-time or full-time. Students should make every effort to attend one of the sessions as they will help you understand the academic and social environment in which you are working and provide an introduction to a range of University services and training in various research-related matters.
Year 2+ students a Continuing PGR Induction date and venue TBC, but likely to be 9th November from 2:00pm. This session will include topics like how to manage your supervisor and how to complete on time.

In addition, Schools/Departments or individual Supervisors provide induction to your specific research area and these will generally be held in the autumn. The arrangements vary by School/Department and for specific details please contact the research administrator in your area.
