Paternity Leave

Paternity Leave

All staff employed by the University can benefit from full pay during Paternity leave.  Staff are eligible for paternity leave if they have, or expect to have responsibility for their baby's upbringing and they:

  • are the biological father of the new baby and/or the mother's husband, civil partner or partner;
  • are taking the time off either to support the mother or to care for the new baby;
  • have worked for the University continuously for 26 weeks (6 months) 15 weeks before the baby is due.

From 1 October 2010 requests and authorisation of Paternity Leave will be via the Other Absence module of Myview.
