Having finished high school, Ody served for six months in the army before coming to the UK to study BSc (Hons) Sport Rehabilitation at the University of Bradford.

A sporting life

“I am a sporty person, and have loved playing football ever since I was a little kid, so I always wanted to work in sports and physiotherapy.

"I am on my second year of study, and so far I have most enjoyed working in the Physiotherapy and Sport Rehabilitation Clinic at the University.  It is a great opportunity for me to work with and treat real patients.

"I am currently looking forward to my second semester placement, where I will be working in a sports club (either football or rugby). I hope to make lots of useful contacts whilst on placement, in order to boost my employability after graduation.

"My tutors, as well as other staff at the Faculty, are very helpful with me, answering all my queries and always happy to meet with me."

Dreaming of a future in football

“I am a member of University’s football 1st team. I also play for a semi-pro football club –Silsden AFC.

"My plan for the future after getting my degree is to work in a football club here in UK for some years, and then go back to Cyprus and start my own clinic.”
