Consultation
We envisage consultation of experts and stakeholders on the meaning of regulatory quality and how it can be measured.
The European Commission (DG Enterprise) has set up a Support Network for this project. All members of the Support Network
were consulted in March 2004, together with the Directors of Better Regulation Programs.
We are also using the network of contacts developed over the years. We are sounding the experts we know on different items,
such as recent initiatives for regulatory quality, measurement, indicators, and how the experts rate the new pilot projects
under way in several countries.
In March 2004 we wrote to the following experts:
- Alessandro Natalini - Consorzio MIPA, Italy
- Bruce Ballantine - The European Policy Centre, Brussels
- David Parker - School of Management Cranfield University and Centre on Regulation and Competition, University of Manchester
- Mario Martelli - The Italian National School of Public Administration (SSPA)
- Giuseppe Pennisi - The Italian National School of Public Administration (SSPA)
- Matilda Rotkirch - Swedish Institute for European Policy Studies (Sieps - Stockholm)
- Carl Fredrick - Swedish Institute for European Policy Studies (Sieps - Stockholm)
- Colin Kirkpatrick - Institute for Development Policy and Management (IDPM), University of Manchester
- Frank Vibert - European Policy Forum - London
- Normann Lee - University of Manchester
- Clive George - Institute for Development Policy and Management (IDPM) - University of Manchester
- Renaud Dehousse - Sciences-Po, Paris
- Frank Vibert - European Policy Forum - London
This website is designed with a view to making it easy for stakeholders to send us their views on the project and on regulatory quality
in their country and the EU.
