Where is the library?

What are the opening hours of the library?

Please look at our opening hours page for full details of desk and building opening hours at both the J. B. Priestley Library and the Management and Law Library.

Who can use the library?

All members of staff and students of the University of Bradford are eligible to use both the J. B. Priestley Library and the Management and Law Library. 

Non-members of the University of Bradford are sometimes permitted to use the libraries. Full details can be found on our information for visitors page.

Can I renew a laptop?

Laptops may be renewed in person at the Enquiries Desk on floor 0 of the J. B. Priestley Library. Renewal is subject to a minimum stock level at the time that the request is made. Renewal of these items using the web renewal service or by telephone is not permitted. Further information on borrowing a laptop is available on our laptops and other devices page.   

Can I return books from Management Library at the J. B. Priestley Library?

For your convenience, most books can be returned to either the J. B. Priestley Library or the Management and Law Library. The exceptions are Quick Service items, laptops, room keys, skeletons and other items that are borrowed from one of the Enquiry Desks. These items must be returned to the library from which they were borrowed.

The following can be returned at either library:

  • 3 day loans
  • 1 week loans
  • 4 week loans

Can I get help outside normal office hours?

Our Need Help chat service is available from 17.00 - 08.00 daily. Please go to the Library home page and look for the Need Help link in the bottom right corner of the page. 

How can I use other libraries?

Who can I ask about an item that I have lost in the library?

Property found within the library is taken to the Security Desk in the J. B. Priestley Library and to the Enquiry Desk at the Management and Law Library. Please ask at the appropriate desk for assistance.  Some items of property can only be collected during staffed hours.

Property will be kept for 28 days prior to disposal, with the exception of items such as passports and driving licences which will be sent back to the appropriate authority.

Property found in other parts of the campus is likely to be taken to the Richmond Reception Desk. Please ask there for assistance.
