About the Children's Peace Library Project

In January 2005, The Commonweal Collection launched its Children's Mobile Peace Library project, funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation. The project seeks to organize monthly activities in the community to reach children of all backgrounds between the ages of 4 and 14, particularly those facing economic and social challenges. The goal of the activities is to provide children with non-violent ways of dealing with the social conflict they face in their lives, such as racism, poverty and low self-esteem. The Commonweal Collection also wishes to makes its own resources better known and available to the parents and children of the Bradford community.
