Due to maintenance of staff filestores, IT Services are requesting that you do not use your G drive over the Bank Holiday weekend (this also applies to users who access files off campus using NetStorage).
Please ensure you have no files open on your G: drive and that you have logged out and shut down your PC by the end of the working day on Friday 24 May.
If you encounter difficulties accessing your G: drive on returning to work after the Bank Holiday weekend, please contact ICT Servicedesk.
Please note that if you use an Apple Mac you will need to re-map your homedrive. If you are a known Mac user, you will be contacted by IT Services with instructions for how to do this. Otherwise, instructions are available from ICT Servicedesk.

IT Services will be upgrading Zenworks, which manages our Windows 7 desktops, on Wednesday 3 April at 18:00.
This will affect machines running Windows 7 in PC clusters, staff offices, lecture theatres, GTAs and laptops (but not the Library’s UBorrow laptops), managed by IT Services.
Once the upgrade has begun you will not be able to login to any University-owned Windows 7 desktops. However, if you logged in prior to 18:00, you will be able to continue to use the machine (although please be aware that some applications may be affected).
We expect the upgrade to take no more than 2 hours.
IT Services apologises for any inconvenience caused.

A service pack upgrade to the University telephone system is due to take place, commencing Friday evening 22 February 2013. The system will go down at 17:00 for approximately 5 hours. No incoming our outgoing calls will be possible during this time and the voicemail service will also be unavailable. Security and Emergency Services will be provided with corporate mobiles for emergency use during this period.
Saturday 23 February will be reserved for testing and an additional upgrade to the ICT Servicedesk contact centre application (Solidus e-care). The system will be up and running during this time as we test a variety of telephony functions. First business day in service will be Monday 25 February, when telephone engineers will be on site to resolve any problems that were not immediately apparent over the weekend - please report any faults to ICT Servicedesk.
Mobile numbers for Security and Emergency Services are as follows:
As part of the upgrade process, all telephony data will be backed up (and frozen) at start of business on Thursday 14 February. Please note, only imperative moves, changes and additions to the telephone system will take place during the nine days thereafter. The backup data will be reloaded on Saturday 23 February.
If you believe your School / Directorate will require new extensions, moves or changes during this time, please contact ICT Servicedesk immediately.
With regard to voicemail, there is a small risk that any saved messages may be lost during the upgrade process. We advise all voicemail users to make a written note of any important messages prior to 17:00 on Friday 22 February.
If the timing of this proposed upgrade is likely to have a negative impact on any campus activity or event you were planning for that weekend (particularly the Friday evening), please contact ICT Servicedesk with details of your activity or event.
We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.
