The British Computer Society is offering advanced ECDL units in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. Each is a separate qualification. For full details please see the British Computer Society's ECDL Advanced web page.
The syllabus for each unit can be found at the British Computer Society's ECDL Advanced Syllabus and Practice Papers page.
No Advanced courses are currently planned. Check the Course Programme page for updates.
To book a place on one of these events visit the online booking form.
The ECDL Advanced course workbooks are written and published by CIA Training Ltd.
Microsoft Office 2007 materials are available:
Please contact training@bradford.ac.uk for details of current pricing, and a registration form. The ECDL Advanced, unlike ECDL, is not funded centrally, so you will need to apply to your own department's staff training budget to pay for it, or pay individually.
Tests are computer-based, and you will perform tasks using the actual computer application (Office 2007). The time allowed for each test is 60 minutes. The test is automatically marked on completion, so you don't need to wait for the results!. The pass mark is 75%.
ECDL Advanced Tests will take place in F29 Richmond Building during the advertised ECDL Test Sessions.
You may sit a test on any one of the four units at this test session. Candidates wishing to take Advanced tests must notify the ECDL Advanced Test Registration form mentioned above.
If you have failed a test, and have concerns about the test result, or the conduct of the test sessions, please refer to the Appeals Procedure.
A free sample test paper for each unit, complete with exercise files, can be downloaded from the ECDL Foundation's ECDL Advanced Sample Test Papers page. Please note that the test format we use is not paper-based, but the sample test papers will give you an indication of whether you are prepared to take a real test.
Online Sample (Diagnostic) Tests are now available, but these will be charged for individually.
Here is the roll of honour for all staff who have completed individual ECDL Advanced Units, or the full ECDL Advanced qualification. Well done everybody!
