Assessor Award
The role of an assessor is to support and assess candidates working towards the ITQ. This involves:
- Helping candidates to select the appropriate level and optional units.
- Giving advice on evidence collection/portfolio building.
- Observing candidates in the workplace.
- Assessing candidate evidence/competence against the standards.
- Recording assessment decisions.
- Giving feedback to candidates and the assessment team.
- Attending NVQ workshops and Assessment Team meetings.
Assessor Framework
The Assessor award consists of one unit which is divided into four elements:
- Develop plans for assessing competence with candidates.
- Judge evidence against criteria to make assessment decisions.
- Provide feedback and support to candidates on assessment decisions.
- Contribute to the quality assurance process.
Like ITQ
candidates, you will need to produce a portfolio of evidence to show that you
