Knowledge Transfer Networks

Every semester the school invites guest speakers to present on a range of topics. Some of the speakers are alumni, who are happy to return to the school to share their experiences, and others will be experts in a particular field who will provide detailed understanding of a specific area.

All current students on the MBA, MSc and undergraduate degrees are welcome to attend and we also invite alumni and other partners.

As well as being highly informative, these lectures offer a fantastic networking opportunity so we would recommend that you attend as many of these presentations as you can.

Coffee and registration is from 5.30pm for a 6.00pm start. The session is then followed by a networking buffet.

‘Understanding and engaging in mergers and acquisitions’ and ‘Building an innovation engine’

Jens will discuss the ins and outs of mergers and acquisitions. How to prepare, what you can expect to see as the project unfolds and what you might need to think about to bring the project to a successful conclusion. This interesting topic has increasing relevance for SMEs as larger firms snap up innovating small businesses.

Rob will discuss how innovation can be the path to growth and a route back from the economic meltdown. He postulates the nature of an innovation system and then deals with each element of that system and what it means to the growth firm - strategy, leadership, tools, alliances and culture.
