Aims:
1. To develop a strategic understanding of contempory issues and developments in HRM. 2. To explore the changing role of the HRM function within the business and its impact on line managers. 3. To improve the capacity of participants to analyse, diagnose and develop a suitable strategic response to current HR issues. 4. To further appreciate and develop the necessary skills to manage strategic organisational change issues.

Learning Teaching & Assessment Strategy:
Lectures in which key themes are discussed and leading practice reviewed; topical case studies across diverse sectors used to reinforce these themes. Focus is on how HRM strategically can postively impact upon business performance.

Management toolkit - tools and techniques some options - employer of choice - attracting and retaining talent.
Managing personally -career planning for the executive
Current case studies will be utilised throughout the module.
