The Bradford-Perugia MBA in Italy overview

This NEW joint award between the University of Bradford and the University of Perugia, Italy commences in October 2011. It will be taught in English and delivered full-time over 12 months in the beautiful setting of Spoleto in Italy by a combination of senior academics from both universities.

Students taking The Bradford-Perugia MBA in Italy programme will, on completion of their studies, have an opportunity to undertake a three month internship. The provision of this experience will be managed by the University of Perugia, Italy in conjunction with local enterprises, and every effort will be made to ensure that all participants are afforded this opportunity. Opportunities to take modules at Bradford or at one of our partner institutions in France or Spain are available and encouraged.

Bradford University School of Management is highly ranked by the Financial Times. In the latest (December 2011) European Business school rankings, it was ranked:

The Bradford MBA is ranked within the top 100 MBAs in the world, and also carries the prestigious AMBA accreditation. The School is also accredited by EQUIS and is in the process of gaining AACSB accreditation.

Entry requirements

Applicants for entry to the MBA will normally have:

  • At least 3 years of relevant business or management experience
  • A GMAT score of 600 or above, or if a GMAT score is not available, you will be required to complete the Bradford Test - an online aptitude test which assesses critical thinking ability, recognition of assumptions, deduction, interpretation, evaluation of arguments and mathematical capability.
  • A good first degree. If you do not have a first degree, your professional qualifications and experience, or your sponsor's proof of ability to undertake the MBA may be considered.
  • To be able to demonstrate your ability to study for a post graduate qualification in English. This can be through:
    • English as your home language
    • OR minimum of a 6.5 score on IELTS test of English, 580 in written TOEFL or 240 in computer-based TOEFL (applicants using the Internet-based TOFEL test are required to obtain a score of 94 or better)
    • OR evidence of use of English in your current employment
  • To provide two references including one from your current employer
  • Applicants may also be asked to discuss their application with a member of the Perugia and/or Bradford admissions team prior to an offer being made

Attendance requirements

Delivery is typically in weekly blocks scheduled to provide time for reflection, personal study, group activities and assessments. Classes are normally scheduled during the working week, complemented with shorter periods of evening and weekend working, depending on the subject being studied.

Assessment

Teaching on the programme involves a combination of formal lectures, group discussions, seminars, directed reading and personal research. Generally, the MBA programme aims to integrate applied and theoretical knowledge with assessment processes that test knowledge and understanding, application and analysis of the disciplines.
