Your Career
Studying at a leading European business school will give you access to an international business network and broaden your career horizons.
The career paths chosen by our undergraduate students are varied, many choose to undertake further professional and academic qualifications to progress their career, (the school organises a Professional Bodies Fair so that they are aware of all their options ) others secure places on Graduate Training schemes and some go into organisations in entry level positions. The Career Development Service at the school is here to help students explore all these options and to stat to plan their career.
A degree from the School of Management will equip you will all the skills to be an independent learner who can challenge things, problem solve, work in a team and be a good manager and leader. You'll also have a good understanding of businesses' role in sustainable development.
Employability is a key issue at the School of Management, this is evidenced by the fact that it is embedded in the curriculum and that all second year students undertake a core module in “Employability and Enterprise”, which has been designed to give students the tools, techniques and confidence to succeed in the job market,
This is then supplemented by the other resource and support on offer to students.
You will also benefit from our excellent links with employers who give guest lectures and presentations, get involved in our skills and employability workshops and offer mentoring and placement opportunities. The school also organises its own Business and Management Careers fair and a tailored speed networking event for those on the BSc Financial Planning. The School works hard to allow lots of opportunity for students to meet with employers and so we invite recruiters/employers to participate in the curriculum and with careers based activities.
Our international business links also mean that you can choose to take our courses over four years with a year in industry or undertake a period of study abroad. Previously, undergraduate students have done placements at companies like IBM, Cable and Wireless Worldwide, Freemans Grattan Holdings Plc and General Electric.
All of this makes you a more attractive candidate to prospective employers. That's why more than 90 per cent of our graduates are in work or further study within six months of graduating, according to recent figures.
Those that choose the part-time Morrisons corporate degree will embark on exciting career in manufacturing with a major retailer on graduation with ongoing support from the School of Management.
