Memorial lecture by Sir Howard Newby
'Doing Widening Participation: Social Inequality and Access to Higher Education?'

On Tuesday 30th March 2004, the University of Bradford will commemorate the life and work of former Vice-Chancellor and Principal Professor Colin Bell, with a special memorial lecture presented by Sir Howard Newby, Chief Executive of the Higher Education Funding Council for England.

You are cordially invited to join us for this event in the Great Hall, Richmond Building at 6.30pm. Light refreshments will be served from 6pm.

Professor Bell was a sociology professor and race relations expert who was recognised both as a leading authority on social inclusion and as a lifelong campaigner for social justice.

This event represents a major opportunity to celebrate Colin's life and the progress being made in this vital area of activity. We would be delighted if you could join colleagues, external guests, friends and family for this special memorial lecture.
