Bradford School of Optometry and Vision Science Research

Director of Research - Dr Declan McKeefry

The School undertakes research, both fundamental and applied, as well as consultancy projects across a wide range of vision-related topics. In the most recent, independent assessment of our research quality (the UK Government's 2008 Research Assessment Exercise), 80% of our submission was deemed to be 'internationally significant'.

Our research staff include 14 full-time academic staff, one Research Fellow, 4 Post-Doctoral Research Assistants and 16 Ph.D. students. The research we conduct is funded by a range of prestigious bodies including the UK's Research Councils (ESPRC & BBSRC), the Department of Health, and by several charitable organisations including The Wellcome Trust. We also undertake contract research and consultancy work for public bodies and the private sector. Should you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact our Director of Research.
