Potential research areas

A very broad range of research areas are open to PhD students, including cross-disciplinary projects. Our main areas of research are:

Prospective research students can contact our Director of Postgraduate Research, Dr Declan McKeefry, to discuss potential research areas and successful applicants to our research studentship programme are advised to discussion possible research areas with a number of potential supervisors within the School before committing to a particular project. As well as us suggesting projects, we encourage students to formulate their own ideas if they have a specific area of interest. We make every effort to accommodate these ideas in to the research study design. From time to time, we advertise studentships associated with a particular predetermined research project, funded by a research grant.
