How to Apply

To apply for an advertised Ph.D. post, contact Mrs Shamim Haider tel: 01274 235952, email: S.A.Haider@Bradford.ac.uk, or access our online postgraduate study application form.

Academic requirements

You are eligible to apply to us for postgraduate study leading to Ph.D. if you have a first (1st) or upper second class (2:1) Honours degree in Optometry, Orthoptics, Neuroscience, Psychology or a related subject. If you hold a lower second class (2:2) Honours degree, an MSc is normally required. We also consider applicants with a qualification in Medicine (MBBS), particularly those with specific ophthalmology training.

How do I find out more?

First, browse this website to see what kind of research we do and consider the areas you might be interested in. Also, watch out for details of our Ph.D. information evenings, usually held in April each year, and look out for specific calls for applicants on this website. You can also talk to Dr Declan McKeefry our Director of Post Graduate Research, to a member of Academic Staff or to any of our current PhD students. You do not need to wait for a specific call for applicants to contact us.
