The University of Bradford School of Optometry and Vision Science is seeking applicants for three full-time (3-year) research PhD studentships commencing in July 2011. Applicants would be required to have a good BSc degree in optometry or other vision/cognitive science-related discipline.
Research interests within the School are wide-ranging and include: vision & mobility, amblyopia, ocular disease and ageing, visual neuroscience & psychophysics, multi-sensory interaction, visual optics, accommodation & higher-order ocular aberrations, myopia development. For optometrist applicants (GOC registered for at least 1 year) we can offer Clinical Demonstrator positions that carry a bursary equivalent to ~£20,000 gross taxable salary with a 7 hours per week teaching commitment. For non-optometrists, a bursary of £13,500 is available with up to 4 hours per week of teaching.
