 FIXED ISSUES WORKING GROUPS

The LA committee decided to set up 4 single issue working groups. This decision was made with 2 objectives in mind.

1) To better engage with the LA members on matters that the committee felt would be of most interest and to help inform the committee of the views and concerns that members may have on these issues.

2) To encourage an increase in the levels of activism within the institution, hopefully as the first step to setting up a departmental rep structure.

The 4 working groups will consider the following topics.

Each working group will be facilitated by an LA committee member and the business of each group will be conducted in a manner that best suits the members of each group.

As a first step, 4 mailing lists have been created (one for each group) and members are invited to contact Dave Ewen in the first instance, stating which group(s) they would be interested in participating in. Members will then be contacted via that mailing list by the group's facilitator.
