Project Management Team

Project Leader: Marion Webb

Marion Webb.Marion joined Kingston University in 1997 and became Head of Learning and Teaching Development in 2006. She is responsible for the University’s Learning, Teaching and Assessment Strategy and for the Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma and Masters in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. She also oversees staff development for Kingston’s FE partners.

Marion is a member of the Management Group for C-Scaipe, Kingston’s CETL for Sustainable Communities Achieved through Integrated Professional Education and was a member of the Management Team for the HE Academy project Rapid Reaction and Response: The in-class use of mobile technologies to support diagnostic assessment.

She is on the Executive Committee of SEDA (Staff and Educational Development Association) and the General Council of SEEC. She has published on the links between Widening Participation and Learning and Teaching at institutional level and on Foundation degrees.
Before joining Kingston Marion worked in Further Education where she was involved in Teacher Education and Staff Development.

Principal Investigator: Peter Hughes

Peter Hughes.Peter joined the University of Bradford in June 2005. Prior to that he worked (from January 2003) in the Centre for Learning, Teaching and Research in HE at the University of Durham, mostly contributing to the delivery and management of the PG Cert in Learning and Teaching in HE. Before that he was a lecturer/senior lecturer in Environmental Studies and Geography at the University of Sunderland (1993-2002) - it was his work there that led to the award of a National Teaching Fellowship in 2002. He started his HE career in the School of Independent Studies at Lancaster University and this has remained influential in focusing his research interests onto the development of independence and autonomy in HE learners.

He maintains links to his original subject areas of Geography & ES through working with the HE Academy Subject Centre for GEES, teaching a final year module in Global Environmental Management within AGES at Bradford, and through work in the cross-institutional Education for Sustainable Development initiatives that form part of Ecoversity.

Project Officer (Kingston): Tracy Evans

Tracy EvansTracy is a part-time Project Officer on the Outduction Project at Kingston University, based in the Academic Development Centre (ADC); a central department which offers a wide range of support and developmental activities across the University.Tracy is new to the University, having previously worked on various projects in education. Tracy has recently extended her contract to become involved in the organisation of the Teaching Fellowship Scheme, a university funded award in recognition of excellent achievement in teaching and supporting student learning.

Project Officer (Bradford): Ruth Whitfield

Ruth WhitfieldRuth is based in the Centre for Educational Development at the University of Bradford and has a successful track record of supporting externally funded projects, including Enhancing Learner Progression and the CRA's Intern/National Coalition for Electronic Portfolio Research. She developed online learning objects and web resources for Develop Me! as part of the University's successful Pathfinder programme to support the "extended induction" model piloted by the Learner Development Unit. She is Project Manager for another NTFS project, Programme Assessment Strategies (PASS).
