Biography
Karen Abi-Ezzi's research interests remain in the area of peace processes in the Middle East, particularly in relation to the application of social constructionism and discourse analysis to deepen and broaden understandings of mediation processes.She is currently writing a book, provisionally called 'Peacemaking Strategies in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: a Re-evaluation' which will be published by Routledge (forthcoming 2007). Her previous study of reconciliation processes, particularly the work being carried out by NGOs in Lebanon is also being developed further. In January and April 2006, she went to Lebanon to explore possibilities for developing future projects there in partnership with local NGOs. Locally, she has been a regular speaker at the Inter-Cultural Leadership School organised to promote greater understanding between young people in leadership positions from different ethnic backgrounds working in and around Bradford.
