A variety of exercise classes such as bodypump and boxercise, yoga, pilates and many more are available in our new studio. Facilities also include a fully equipped and heated 25-metre indoor swimming pool. For more information visit www.bradford.ac.uk/unique

Food for the Soul...

We host a wide range of exhibitions and performances for lovers of the arts.

The Tasmin Little Music Centre is a hub for live music-making on campus, you’ll find a range of musical opportunities from jazz and rock to world, choral and instrumental. There are practice rooms and rehearsal spaces and a wide variety of performances are held both on and off campus.

The Theatre in the Mill has an enviable reputation, producing and hosting cutting-edge new work with some of the best young artists and dramatists in the country. Opened by Alan Ayckbourn in 1976, it’s the centre of the University’s theatrical activities and offers a black box flexible space for approximately 100 people.

Working with an increasing number of regional and national partners, we offer a diverse range of theatrical skills training opportunities and the chance to create work alongside the best in the business.

The visual arts have always been important to the University. We have a permanent collection of over 400 works of art displayed around the campus, alongside changing exhibitions. Gallery II is a base for touring contemporary shows, featuring many local and up-and-coming artists, and also represents our growing international connections.

To complement your studies you can also enjoy a number of arts-related lectures run by the School of Lifelong Education and Development – visit www.bradford.ac.uk/sled to find out more, and if you’d like to know more about the arts in general at the University, visit www.bradford.ac.uk/arts

...and the Body

Bradford offers a tempting choice of places to eat both on and off campus. You can relax in the marvellous social space of the Atrium over a sandwich and coffee, or visit the Atrium Restaurant which offers vegan and halal cuisine. Students studying at the School of Management can eat, drink and socialise in the new atrium space on site, while Chesham Cafe, in the Chesham Building just opposite Unique: Fitness & Lifestyle, provides the perfect place for a warming jacket potato after a refreshing swim. If you want to meet friends in the evening, the recently refurbished Student Central makes an excellent rendezvous where you’ll be able to relax over a drink in the sports or health bars, or maybe enjoy a game of pool.

Passionate about a particular hobby or interest, or fancy taking up a new one? The Students’ Union has over 35 clubs and 45 societies and runs its very own radio station, RamAir, which broadcasts daily. It also operates a free safety bus to transport you home safely in the evenings. For more information about what the union has to offer, visit www.ubuonline.co.uk

The Students’ Union (UBU) is now housed alongside other services in the brand-new, state-of-the-art Student Central building, adjoining the library on one level and featuring great social spaces on the basement level leading out to the amphitheatre. An airy atrium provides relaxed social and learning spaces with facilities for food and drinks.
