Bishop of Bradford - Questioning Faith: Religion, Change and Challenge

Date and Time: Mon 20 Feb 2012, 18:00 - 19:30 (1.5 hours)

The Bishop of Bradford, Nick Baines will speak as part of our thought provoking lecture series Faith and the City in a lecture entitled Questioning Faith: Religion, Change and Challenge.

“Religion is seen by many as inherently conservative and that religious people are either unwilling or unable to change. However, the world keeps changing and confident religion must – if it is to have any credibility – be competent to cope with that change. If religious faith is not to be relegated to the realm of fantasy, how are religiously-committed people to open their faith to question and amendment in the light of ‘reality’?   Baines will look at the nature of ‘faith’ and the challenge to faith communities to handle challenge and change with both confidence and faith.”
