1. Research

Currently involved in collaborative study with University of Leeds, examining attitudes towards HIV/AIDS held by various client groups, together with perception of risk and autobiographical factors

Data analysis by Spring 2001


2. PhD - 1998 to 2002

This will examine the role of culture in determining perception of contagion, with a focus on HIV and AIDS.

Review and research design will approach the topic from an anthropological perspective. Ethnography will be used in the 'field', and an analysis of the discourse will  draw upon myth, legend and folklore in Western and 'traditional' societies, together with the relevant art, drama and literature.
