Relaxation Areas

As well as dedicated learning resources and facilities, the University has an abundance of more informal, student-friendly meeting places where you can sit with friends over a coffee and catch up on some study notes or talk through your lectures without worrying about disturbing your fellow students or being asked to keep the noise down.

The recent campus refurbishments have created a wealth of well-equipped, modern spaces, which have proved very popular.

New spaces include:

  • Student Central - bars, a venue, a shop, meeting spaces and student services all under one roof in our newly refurbished student building
  • The Atrium - eating/drinking outlet as well as wireless network space. Plug your laptop in, or use one of the dedicated networked PCs and away you go
  • Bookable group study rooms - small, quiet rooms for groupwork available to book within Learner Support Services
  • The new Atrium restaurant - available for snacks, meals and drinks from 8.30am during term-time
