Entry requirements

The University welcomes applications from all potential students, and offers are made following detailed consideration of each individual application.

The decision to offer a place is based on our assessment of a candidate’s potential to benefit from their studies and of their ability to succeed on this particular programme. Whilst you will normally hold a first degree or professional qualification we will consider your application if you do not possess such a qualification but have appropriate health and social care work experience.

Work experience of at least one year in a health and social care-related environment - this experience must be detailed in the application. Applicants are required to provide information, as part of their application, to detail how this experience has prepared them for study on this programme. Stronger applications will be those that include some thought as to how the programme will help the applicant reach their specific career goals.

Additional entry requirements

Recognised English qualification, for example, GCSE English grade A-C.

English language requirements

IELTS 6.0 with 5.5 in each sub-test.

If you do not meet the IELTS requirement, and you have a UKVI approved IELTS, you can take a University of Bradford pre-sessional English course. See the Language Centre for more details. For further information on English Language requirements please see the dedicated international entry requirements page.

Learning and assessment

This programme combines study and assessment of theory alongside its application to practice.

Study is through a blending learning approach including attendance on campus for each module, a virtual learning environment to support study, and ongoing tutor support.

Assessment of the programme includes practical application of skills and knowledge, demonstrating a theoretical understanding and enabling you to grow in confidence.

This is the current course information. Modules and course details may change, subject to the University's programme approval, monitoring and review procedures. The University reserves the right to alter or withdraw courses, services and facilities as described on our website without notice and to amend Ordinances, Regulations, fees and charges at any time. Students should enquire as to the up-to-date position when applying for their course of study.
