Part-Time Study
For many people who work or look after a family, the traditional three years of intensive full-time study just isn't an option. We have understood the need for flexibility for many years and Bradford can boast being one of the first universities outside London to offer part-time degree-level study.
We have several part-time degrees available and you can also study one of the new Foundation Degrees by a part-time route, as well as several other courses that are designed to be studied whilst working.
If you just want to dip your toe into higher education and see if it is right for you, you can enrol on a single module as an Associate Student. You will study alongside full-time degree students and gain credits for completing the course that you can then put towards a certificate, or even a degree if you really take to it. Modules cost around £80 each so you can afford to try one out before committing to a longer course.
Part-time students may be eligible for grants, reduced fees and loans, and details are available from the Hub (tel: 01274 236500). If you have studied before, you can use the Credit Accumulation and Transfer Scheme (CATS) to transfer your credits to a course at Bradford. You will also have the flexibility to take credits you gain at Bradford to another university or leave with a Certificate or Diploma if circumstances mean you aren't able to complete your course.
Part-time courses are listed in our Part-time Prospectus and see here for details of Saturday Schools and short courses. There is also free and confidential guidance service in the School of Lifelong Education and Development to help you choose a course that is right for you. Call 01274 233210 to talk through your options.
Many postgraduate taught courses and research degrees can be studied part-time, which makes it easier for students in full-time work to make day-release arrangements.
