Study Abroad
If you come to Bradford to study for an undergraduate degree there may be an opportunity for you to spend up to a year studying at a partner university abroad through SOCRATES.
Funding is available to students who are EU nationals to help with the living costs of studying abroad. Non-EU students can sometimes take part in an exchange, but under the existing regulations would not be eligible for SOCRATES funding.
Departments included in the application for the SOCRATES-ERASMUS student exchange programme are Archaeological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Civil Engineering, Computing, Economics, Languages and European Studies, Law, Peace Studies, Mechanical Engineering, Nursing, Pharmacy and the School of Management.
We also offer students the opportunity to spend part of their second year studying in California at the California State University (www.calstate.edu - link will open in a new window).
Students enrolled on the following courses are invited to submit an application to participate in the California Exchange programme: Archaeological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Computing, Cybernetics, Economics, Electronic Imaging and Media Communications, Engineering, Geography and Environmental Science, Interdisciplinary Human Studies, Languages and European Studies, Nursing, Peace Studies, Politics and Sociology.

Our students say . . .
"My three-month exchange in Spain was one of the best experiences of my time here so far. It was very challenging and useful to work with PhD students and Doctors who I learnt so much from. The experience has enabled me to work independently and manage my time much more effectively, as well as improving my presentation skills."
Alexis France, Pharmacy. Exchange in Salamanca, Spain.
