Learner Support
If you need assistance with using any of the services provided by Learner Support, you can ask at the Learner Support Centre situated on the ground floor of the J B Priestley Building.
This is staffed by trained advisers who can help you with access to information resources and use of the IT facilities from 9.00am to 8.00pm from Monday to Friday. A service is also provided at weekends during term-time. If you are not on campus, you can email them at lsshelp@bradford.ac.uk or contact them by phone.
Learner Development Unit (LDU)
Starting a new course at university can be an exciting challenge but it can also feel a little overwhelming at times. Supporting students in their learning is one of the most important things the LDU does. The LDU is a University-wide central service. This means that whoever you are, whatever course you are studying, and whatever year of study you are in we are here to help you.
What do we do?
The LDU provides all sorts of resources to support you in developing and enhancing your academic skills. We have information on anything and everything from writing essays, referencing and plagiarism to solving maths problems! In addition to paper-based resources we have a whole host of online learning materials available from our website www.bradford.ac.uk/learner-development
In addition to the online resources we also run a comprehensive series of workshops on a range of different areas covering:
- Learning skills
- Reading skills
- Writing skills
- Individual skills
- Maths and Numeracy skills
We also provide confidential drop-in sessions for you to see an Adviser on a 1-2-1 basis and discuss any issues you might have about your learning.
