Imagine you're in a theatre of the future, powered by an algorithm.

REMOTE arrives to help your city become more the place of your dreams.

We are here to help you be more like people like you.

We are here to offer you choice (because we already know that people like you like choice).

Here's Sally. You are playing Sally. She dreams of freedom. Let's see how she goes.

Coney make theatre in which you can play and take a meaningful part. REMOTE is a piece of sit-down interactive theatre, interrogating the politics of choice, the Uberisation of everything, and living in an immaterial world.

Tassos Stevens writes about starting REMOTE: playing scale, The Stanley Parable, and an idea in the shower. 'The system of REMOTE is voiced by two performers as the operators of the system, somewhere between call centre operators and Amazon Fulfilment Centre workers. They are onstage but it’s played that they are in another room in the company headquarters, thousands of miles away, remote. So it’s like we’re playing over skype, which can glitch or fail. The operators’ own agency (or lack of it) is a key element in the politics of this system.' Read more

'Coney is one of a handful of companies worldwide to explore interactive theatre’s potential to communicate the intricacies of systems to the widest audience. It wants to equip educators, charities and scientists with the tools to understand and explain complex, interlocking structures like businesses, governments, ecosystems – even climate.'
