Sports Therapy with Jill Hague BSc (Hons) M.S.S.T

What is Sports Massage?
Sports Massage can be beneficial in several ways and can be used both pre- and post-exercise.
Pre-exercise massage comprises of fast movements to generate heat and increase blood flow to the muscles. This improves tissue pliability and, combined with stretching, has been seen to help reduce injury risk.
Post-exercise massage encourages venous and lymphatic drainage thereby improving the arterial blood flow and helps to reduce musculartension and restore normal tissue condition. It is beneficial in the breakdown of muscular `knots'.
Scar tissue from previous injuries can lead to local or referred problems. It has been identified that frictions have a beneficial effect on the break down of this scar tissue and adhesions.
Jill has experience with teams such as the Huddersfield Giants RLFC as well as a number of local amateur clubs.
