This site now serves as an archive only for historical purposes.

The Web 2000 project provided the University with opportunity to expand and improve its Web site, promote the use of the Web and maximise its potential as a powerful tool for everyone at the University.  Although the project was drawn to a close at the end of 2001, we continue to build upon its foundations.

Current support to Web users and developers is available on the Learning Support Services Web authoring resources page.

If you wish to access Web2000 pages and are unable to do so, please e-mail info-admin@bradford.ac.uk

Events and Training

An important part of Web 2000 is the provision of staff development opportunities in the form of training, workshops and other similar events. Since October 1999 Web 2000 has offered lunchtime presentations and courses covering:

  • creating graphics for Web pages
  • scanning and preparing images for the Web
  • navigation aids
  • accessibility issues

There have been several speakers from outside the University giving presentations about various aspects of the WWW of interest to those working in higher education.

Details of all these events were circulated via the Web and the following flyers (require Adobe Acrobat Reader):

Many of the topics covered by lunchtime presentations are now incorporated in the Computer Centre's staff training programme.  Sessions related to Teaching and Learning are organised by Teaching Quality Enhancement Group's Learning Technology Manager. Details of  Web related training and other events are available on the Learning Support Services (LSS) training pages.

If you have any suggestions/requirements for Web related training, please contact Ruth Whitfield (r.whitfield@bradford.ac.uk) in the Computer Centre.

Resources

Links to presentations given during Web 2000, and many other useful Web related resources are available from the LSS internet and WWW resources pages.
