Due to the overwhelming success of last year’s Feel Good Festival we are delighted to announce that we are planning a second, bigger and better event!
We have taken on board your comments and suggestions from last year’s event and this year we have changed the date of the event (so hopefully those people who couldn’t attend last year may be able to do so this year), we are aiming to have more stalls, more workshops and a greater selection of food. Again we are encouraging everyone (supported by their manager) to attend for at least a 2 hour slot throughout the course of the afternoon (and once again this time does not need to be made up at a later date).
So please put Friday 24 June 2011(from noon onwards) in your diary and keep your fingers crossed for sunshine. The event will take place on the amphitheatre on City Campus again and we will also have the ground floor of Student Central.
About the festival
The Feel Good Festival is about promoting health, confidence and wellbeing. The day is all about Feeling Good and there will be a free barbeque for everyone to get together and have a great time in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Food is being served over three sessions 12:00 -1:00pm, 1:00-2:00pm and 2:00-3:00pm. You will need to register to attend and will receive a plate of mouth watering food including Halal and vegetarian options. It is a ticketed event so book a place now.
The School of Health and Unique Fitness and Lifestyle will be offering free massages, blood pressure checks, body fat measurement, weight loss and exercise advice, stress management techniques and much, much more.
Last year there were workshop sessions and demonstrations as well as craft stalls. This year we would like to have even more, for example we would like to have a mini farmers and crafts market and would be grateful for any details of contacts that you may have. Again we also want to showcase the hidden talent at the University and encourage you to take part in the day. Do you design or make things and would like a stall? Are you in a band and would like to perform on the day?
