Vice-Chancellor's Awards for Outstanding Achievement

These awards recognise those who have made a major contribution to the life of the University, in particular to achieving the overarching objectives of the University Strategy:

  • Excellence
  • Internationalisation
  • Equality and Diversity
  • Sustainability

More information is available on the University's Strategic Objectives.

These awards sit alongside the Vice-Chancellor’s Teaching Excellence Awards.

Every year we encourage nominations from all our students and staff. Awards are given for each strategic objective to celebrate the contribution our students and staff make to the University.

The Award winners are invited to an evening celebration event in April hosted by the Vice-Chancellor.

Commendations may also be awarded where there are a high number of strong applications. Commendations will be awarded by a personal letter and certificate from the Vice-Chancellor.

The nominations process is open from October to December and nominations can be made by any member of the University, e.g. a colleague, a student, or a relevant group such as the Students' Union, a Faculty or a Professional Service Directorate on behalf of an individual or a team - self-nominations will not be accepted.
