Int'nal Students & Tier 4 - the basics

Prerequisite: Contact with international students.

Target Audience: All staff members (in academic, administrative and support roles) who have contact with international students as part of their academic studies.

This workshop aims to ensure that staff across the University:

- have a general awareness of the principles of sponsorship under Tier 4, and how these impact the University and international students;

- obtain an overview of the University's Tier 4 compliance duties, such as: record keeping, reporting and attendance monitoring;

- understand the roles of the Visa Support Team and International Student Advisor;

- are aware of who can give Immigration Advice in the UK;

- are able to identify when to refer international students for visa advice - and to whom they should be referred.

Course duration: 3 hours.
