Postgraduate Research 

As a Postgraduate Research student you will have your own enrolment and induction schedule detailed below.

Enrolment

Important: You will need to remember to bring to the enrolment session your personal ID document that you uploaded as proof of identity and any relevant change of name documents e.g. Deed Poll/Marriage Certificate etc.

Full Time Home/EU Students:

  • if you are a full time home/EU postgraduate research student please see details regarding your IT activation and online enrolment.

    • once you have completed your IT activation and online enrolment you are required to enrol in person from 20 September 2017 until 13 October 2017. You can enrol in person at any 5 different locations, 4 of these are on city campus and these are; Richmond Building, Horton A Building, Horton D Building and Pemberton Building. The final enrolment location is Emm Lane Building and is where the Faculty of Management & Law is based. Details regarding locations can be using our campus maps which can be found in our Contact and Find Us section.
  • we recommend that the best time to enrol to avoid large queues and delays is between Wednesday 20 September 2017 and Friday 22 September 2017.

    • you may still enrol until 13 October 2017, but we encourage you to do so before the induction week starting on 2 October. If you plan to arrive after 13 October 2017 please see the late arrival information below.   
    • the Induction to your Faculty then takes place from Monday 2 October (see information below). 

Full Time International Students:

  • if you are a full time international postgraduate research student please see details regarding your IT activation and online enrolment.  
  • once you have completed your IT activation and online enrolment you are required to go to the Small Hallin Richmond Building first to meet the Visa Support Team from 13 September 22 September 9:00-17:00 Monday-Friday.
  • the Induction to your Faculty then takes place from Monday 2 October (see information below). 

Part Time Students:

Induction

Please attend your Faculty Postgraduate Research Student Induction event which will take place on Monday 2 October 2017. This will be followed by a full week of sessions to help you settle in, finishing on Friday 6 October with a central induction with the PGR Administration team. Monday's and Friday's events are compulsory

Induction is a very important part of your enrolment here at the University of Bradford and it will provide you with key information along with the opportunity to meet with your fellow peers and staff members.

Should you not be able to attend the compulsory dates please ensure that you write to pgr-admin@bradford.ac.uk as soon as possible so that alternative arrangements can be made.

Late arrivals:

We know that you will do your best to enrol with the University within the timescales laid out, however, we also appreciate that sometimes there can be unforeseen delays.  If you cannot attend our enrolment sessions within the timescales outlined, please be aware that the University will continue to accept students for enrolment until Friday 13 October 2017.

If you are arriving later than this, please contact latearrival@bradford.ac.uk with your UB number, planned date of arrival and the reason for your change of plans.  The University will then be able to put into place any support that you may require, including how to ensure you are provided with any information that you may have missed. 

Financial information (applicable once enrolled):

If you are to be in receipt of any funding/studentship then you will need to visit Payroll on D Floor, room D42 (Richmond Building) once you have enrolled.

You will need to take with you:

  • your studentship letter
  • your new student ID card
  • your bank details

Payroll will then be able to set you up in the system so that you can be paid.
