Tomato soup

You will find tomatoes on campus on the Library square.

This recipe serves 4 people.


400 g of fresh or canned tomatoes.

1/2 teaspoon of baking soda.

2 tablespoons of butter.

1 teaspoon of salt.

1/2 teaspoon of pepper.

Half a pint of milk.


  1. Place the tomatoes in a pan. If using fresh, simmer. If using canned, bring to the boil and simmer until tender.
  2. Add the baking soda.
  3. Heat the milk in a separate pan.
  4. Add the heated milk to the tomatoes and stir.
  5. Add the butter, salt and pepper.
  6. Stir and serve.
