Although the Court has limited powers within the University’s governance structure, it performs an important public role through its large and varied membership and it is the body through which the University maintains influential contact with the wider community.
It is required to meet at least once a year to receive a formal report on the University’s financial and broader performance. Each meeting is preceded by a tour or topical presentation relating to activities undertaken within the University and is followed by a buffet supper and wine reception which will provide networking opportunities for Court members.
Court is also consulted on the appointment of the University Chancellor.
