MSc Medical Imaging: International (2015)
Godfrey was a senior radiographer in Nigeria before coming to study at the University of Bradford, practicing in several hospitals and lecturing at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital.
He wanted to undertake postgraduate education in the UK to develop his Radiography knowledge base, and new skills for training others in his capacity as lecturer.
He chose Medical Imaging: International at the University of Bradford because the programme "was well tailored to my need and covered the areas i wanted to specialize in as a professional Radiographer, which is in MRI and CT. Moreover, the university is known to be well staffed with qualified lecturers in the areas of medical imaging in medicine".
Godfrey's tuition fees were funded by his employer, and he moved to Bradford in 2014 to undertake full time study as an international student.
"I had the opportunity to learn from professionals in both the clinical field and those in the manufacturing sector of the various modalities we use as radiographers. The lecturers were always there to guide me through my studies, offering lots of advice and encouragement, and I had unlimited access to the library and IT facilities".
"My studies at the university has really broadened my career horizons, and I am now looking forward to obtaining a PhD in Radiography. I would recommend this programme of study to my colleagues."
Advice to those considering studying at postgraduate level
"Students should have it at the back of their minds that postgraduate study is very demanding, yet very rewarding and interesting. Be sure to heed the advice of your lecturer, supervisor and course co-coordinators and take full advantage of the library and all available facilities provided by the university, in order to archive an excellent result at the end of your studies."
