Research Interests (key words only)

Reproducibility of weight bearing protocols commonly prescribed in musculoskeletal medicine. Prevention and rehabilitation of Musculoskeletal injuries, particularly in the athletic population.

Teaching and Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Contributes to module leadership, teaching and delivery across the MPhysiotherapy (Sport & Exercise Medicine), BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy and BSc (Hons) Sport Rehabilitation Programmes.

Biography

12 Years experience of working in the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy. The majority of this has been in the sporting field working in professional football, rugby and with elite snow sport athletes.

Entered Academia in 2010 and came to the University of Bradford in 2013.

Has contributed to the development of the MPhysiotherapy (Sport & Exercise Medicine) Programme, due to commence in September 2017, which is the first of its kind in the UK.

Current Projects

  • Does a more dynamic version of the bathroom scales method of partial weight bearing instruction in lower limb rehabilitation result in more accurate reproducibility?
  • Can partial weight bearing instruction with instrumented crutches in lower limb rehabilitation result in more accurate reproducibility?
  • Critical review of the management of chronic Pain in sport
