Sport trauma management

Teaching and Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Module leader for the Neuromusculoskeletal 1 and Sport Trauma Management modules
  • Teaches on other undergraduate modules such as Neuromusculoskeletal 2 & 3; Health Wellbeing and Exercise
  • Teaches on postgraduate lower limb module, support workers modules, and modules in other Schools and Faculties, such as Nursing and Archaeology

  • Mandatory Pre Practice Placement Training coordinator for the School of Allied Health Professions and Sport, responsible for the organisation and delivery of elements such as Basic Life Support and Manual Handling training

Biography

Hilary's areas of expertise are Anatomy in particular of the foot and ankle and Musculoskeletal practice in particular acute sports medicine and medical management on the field of play. She has an interest in the neuroanatomy and physiology of acute pain.

Hilary is also a HCPC Registered Podiatrist so has an added perspective into lower limb pathology and biomechanics. She still works clinically as the Physiotherapist for Stanningley Amateur Rugby and has worked with Great Britain Community Lions, Great Britain Student Squads, BARLA and Service Area Rugby League.

Hilary is also significantly involved in Ecoversity the university programme which aims to embed the principles and practice of sustainable development across the entire institution.
