- Pre–registration nursing (focus on Adult Field)
- Faculty–wide core-module teaching
- some post-registration teaching
My main teaching interests are in anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology, nursing theory and professional practice and ethics. However, I tend to be a generalist with regard to teaching and supporting learning so will turn my hand to most topics. I am a member of the Moving and Handling training team having undertaken the ‘Training the trainers’ course early 2016.
I am particularly interested in how students learn and am currently developing my understanding and practice in team based learning. I have a long standing interest and some expertise in problem based learning and, with midwifery colleagues, was a member of a consultancy team that shared our expertise with peers in other higher education institutions.
I am not currently engaged in research, but I was a co-researcher in collaborative research between Airedale General Hospital and the University of Bradford. The focus was nursing assessment and used focus groups and thematic analysis of transcribed interviews.
