Dropbox Data Breach

Published: Thu 1 Sep 2016

We have received information that 509 Bradford email addresses were found in recently released data from a breach at Dropbox in 2012. The data released has been confirmed as real by Dropbox and includes email addresses and encrypted passwords.

Dropbox is resetting passwords for those people affected, who haven't updated their password since mid 2012. We recommend going to the Dropbox website to do this, and not click on any links in emails as there is a possibility of phishing attacks based on this data.

If you use the same password for other online services, or your University of Bradford Account, we recommend that you change these passwords as well.
