Skype for Business Project
Please note: Phase 1 of the project (the bulk of the rollout of Skype for Business to all staff) is now complete. Phase 2 will focus on the remaining small number of staff who have shared extension numbers, and on telephony requirements for common areas like meeting rooms, labs and GTA.
As part of the IT strategy, the University’s new Unified Communications service - Skype for Business - is being introduced at the University.
Skype for Business is replacing the current telephony system, and offers a powerful way to connect and collaborate with colleagues and others.
As well as the advantage of the rich features that come with Skype for Business, the change means that for most University users traditional desktop phones are being replaced with modern headsets which connect to your computer, along with the Skype for Business software.
