Apprenticeships

The Faculty of Management and Law offers the Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship at level 6.

This industry backed apprenticeship standard is integrated with a University validated BSc (Hons) degree in Business and Management.

The degree has a modular blended learning structure; it involves block face to face teaching at the university, and distance learning and work based learning to integrate theory and practice. The programme is designed to reduce the time physically spent at the University as apprentices progress through the programme, thereby transferring the responsibility for study to the apprentice within the overall aim of developing them as an independent and lifelong learner.

The employer appoints each apprentice a work based mentor. The mentor will be company based and will bridge university and workplace, guide the apprentice through the professional development process and liaise with their line manager. The university will provide mentor training.

The apprenticeship will typically take 36 - 42 months to complete, dependent on the nature and scope of the experience gained in the work place, with the final end point assessment taking place in the final 3-6 months. Apprentices are selected by the employer but they must meet the entry requirements of the University.
