Avant-Garde Buskers for Freshers Fortnight

Keep an eye and ear out for a series of pop-up performances and musical interventions on Bradford Uni Campus that coincide with Fresher's Fortnight.

The artists and performers will range from the familiar to the strange and the sublime to the wonderfully weird; including accordion/flute and double bass duo McWatt, 'contact mic busker' Stu Bannister - who coaxes strange sounds from normally-silent architecture. Powered by Tofu and Garfunkle and Simon bring politically-themed singer singwriter folk and Lambs Gamble improvising trio featuring members from France, Prague and Scotland, plus much more!

The times and exact locations of the performances will remain unannounced to heighten the element of surprise and spontaneity and help keep staff and students listening out for the unusual.

The programme emerges from the Tasmin Little Music Centre and recently appointed Fellow in Music Andy Abbott. 'The idea is to help further animate the campus in an already festive fortnight and expose staff and students to some of the more interesting elements of the local and international music scene that they might otherwise not get chance to experience.'

The performances will be filmed and made available to view via the Arts on Campus website http://www.bradford.ac.uk/music/ . If you spot anything and wish to contribute your mobile phone footage then please email a.abbott1@bradford.ac.uk.
