M@BU and RECON present a special evening of commissioned collaborations between musicians and filmmakers.

A unique live collaboration between renowned British underground music group Vibracathedral Orchestra and New York artist Andrew Lampert. Unfolding across two performances, Lampert will transpose sounds and images recorded at VCO's first gig at the Bradford Playhouse, into their second at the Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds.

Formed in 1998 by Julian Bradley, Neil Campbell, Bridget Hayden, Adam Davenport and Michael Flower, VCO performances are long-form, drone-based multi-instrumental improvisations. This will be one of the groups first shows in Yorkshire this decade.

Situated at the intersection of film, video and performance Lampert's work explores cinema as a live encounter between projector, projectionist, audience and screen.

NOPE are an experimental rock quartet from Leeds and Bradford featuring members of That Fucking Tank, Hookworms, Mucky Sailor and more. They meld repetitive, minimalist grooves with swirly fist-pumping alternative rock locked around the dual drumming of Steve Nuttall and Jon Nash. Their debut album Revision attempted to articulate a narrative about a second industrial revolution played out in the distant future on the Yorkshire moors. For this performance they have developed a new composition in collaboration with artist and filmmaker Eoin Shea to further this abstracted post-apocalyptic tale.

Dean McPhee is a Bingley-based solo guitarist influenced by a broad range of music including British Folk, Dub, Krautrock, Post Rock, Moroccan Trance and Modal Jazz. Since he began playing live as a solo guitarist in 2007 Dean has played across the UK supporting artists such as Emeralds, Thurston Moore, The Magic Band, Michael Chapman, Charalambides, Josephine Foster, Michael Hurley, Aidan Baker, Tall Firs, Josh T. Pearson, Wolf People, Xela, Lichens, Meg Baird and Stephen Basho-Junghans. He has played live radio sessions on BBC6 Music for Tom Ravenscroft and the “On the Wire” show on BBC Radio Lancashire, and has been invited to play festivals such as The Great Escape and Shh! Festival. His albums on Blast First Petite label have received critical acclaim from the likes of The Wire magazine and Mojo. Barry Hale is an artist specialising in live projection using video feedback.

Tickets £3. Doors at 7:30pm.
