Ashtray Navigations

Legendary Stoke/Yorkshire cosmic freak-out psychedelic (un)rock from Phil Todd and Melanie Crowley. "AN remain a puzzlingly underrated but integral part of the UK underground scene." David Keenan in The Wire, 2009

N. Racker

Mysterious, dark and sparse soundscapes from deepest Todmorden. Members of Sam and The Plants and Magpahi use an array of acoustic and electronic devices, analogue synths, processed vocals and curious objects to create an alternative, bit-scary universe. Their album Flock Toxicant was release by Andy Votel’s label Pre-Cert Home Entertainment last year. This will be a rare appearance not to be missed.

All the way from Bordeaux,  bouble-bass, percussion, steel-drum and spoken word recalling a smoky jazz club vibe a la Tom Waits or city-mates Radikal Satan. Features members of Gringo Records’ Sincabeza.

Grew Quartet

Grew Quartet Stephen Grew Piano, Phill Marks – Drums, Seth Bennett – Double Bass, Matt Robinson – Clarinets. The quartet are thoroughly spontaneous and range through many moods and influences, from cool, reflective lyricism to an intensity not dissimilar to a high velocity Jimmy Giuffre/Paul Bley ensemble through to more playful, jazz influenced melodic and rhythmic areas, taking in the atomistic, pinpoint energy of the Spontaneous Music Ensemble of the 1970′s.

Mutual Process

Live electroacoustic experimentation with Adam Denton (Transhuman/Swan Hunter) processing prepared guitar and Sean from Newcastle processing that digitally.
