University of Bradford's First Higher Education Academy Principal Fellow

A senior manager at the University of Bradford has been recognised by the national body that champions teaching quality.

Nadira Mirza, Director of Student Success, has become a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Nadira is the first to be awarded Principal Fellow at the University of Bradford.

Principal Fellow is the highest level of fellowship and is awarded to those who “have a sustained, effective record of strategic impact at institutional, national or international level” and are “committed to wider strategic leadership in teaching.”

A number of other staff are currently registered on our Learning & Teaching Professional Development & Recognition Scheme and we hope to announce more Principal Fellows in the near future.

Last summer, in confirming accreditation of the University’s five areas of provision until August 2018, the Higher Education Academy commended many areas of good practice. Nadira’s success, and that of others who have successfully completed other levels of fellowship through the scheme, continues to demonstrate institutional commitment to supporting staff to engage with professional development.
